I feel like I've been getting lots of little bits of inspiration sprinkled onto my path lately. I've been getting stopped in my tracks and compelled to photograph beautiful sights, I've been hearing just the right song - with the right lyrics - at the right time, I've been reading like crazy and getting referrals to other materials that are all supporting the same overall themes. These little moments have sparked some super creative ideas in this imagination of mine that I may not have considered otherwise (I should really be writing some of these down...)
I know something big is happening here... I'm being reminded to stay present by each of these little gifts, because if I was not present when they appeared, I may have missed them. The sights, the lyrics, the quotes, they all stop me in my tracks and cause me to hone in to the present for a second.
I didn't have time to read this morning, so I just flipped through my journal, knowing that the thing I needed at the moment would pop out. A few did, but this one in particular:
“I have come to the frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element. It is my personal approach that creates the climate. It is my daily mood that makes the weather. I possess tremendous power to make life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration, I can humiliate or humor, hurt or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis is escalated or de-escalated, and a person is humanized or de-humanized. If we treat people as they are, we make them worse. If we treat people as they ought to be, we help them become what they are capable of becoming.”
― Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
It has been very important to me lately to immerse myself in material that adds to and supports my growth right now. I feel like I am on the fast track to something... and I just need to stay with it, noticing these gifts as the present themselves to me. I was listening to Wayne Dyer yesterday in the audiobook for Wishes Fulfilled: Mastering the Art of Manifesting and he was talking about how books, quotes, and other inspirational items would always cross his path just when he was about to need them for a book or speaking engagement. I believe this happens to all of us, just not all of us notice it.
You might be wondering why I am going on and on about some new-agey, spiritual enlightenment crap when this is supposed to be a blog about travel adventures, but becoming more invested in my Life Experience was the catalyst to my inspiration to do this, and I know there will be MANY little trinkets along the way, so I want to be sure that I am open and ready to receive the wisdom that is surely to cross my path.
I hope you will too.
Much love,
-Amy
